Barks Around the Park
Come Walk With Us!
Why We Love What We Do!
Dog walking is a rewarding experience for both the furry friends and their walking companions. Watching their excitement as they eagerly jump around, tails wagging, waiting for their leash to be clipped on, is a heartwarming sight. Stepping outside into the fresh air, exploring new scents, and feeling the sunlight on their backs, dogs love the freedom of the great outdoors. It's a chance for them to stretch their legs, socialize with fellow pups, and engage their senses. Whether strolling through parks, busy city streets, or winding mountain trails, dog walking offers a opportunity to see the world through their enthusiastic pawspectives. Every wag of their tail and joyful lunge forward brings a sense of purpose and contentment as you provide them with the exercise, interaction, and love they need. When life gets busy we are happy to fill in for you and provide your best friends new experiences walking with us.

Meet The Team
We are two sisters with a passion for all animals. We started our company Barks Around the Park in 2022. We are friends with many pooches in the North West Calgary area and are always pleased to meet new friends.
We share a home with Golden Retrievers, cats, horses, and a pony. We love training our dogs in agility, scent detection, barn hunt, and Hunt test and a few more. We are often competing in different leagues and local trials often. In addition, we have both attended a minimum of three different puppy & basic obedience classes. This last year we got our Golden Retrievers certified as therapy dogs with the Community Therapy Dogs Society (C.T.D.S). We are officially their two youngest handlers. We visit the patients/people in hospitals, seniors homes, schools and the public library. Our visits brighten people's days and Improve mental health.
In her spare time, Sydney enjoys playing junior hockey and horseback riding. She never misses watching a hockey or baseball game and is a Formula One enthusiast.
Taylor is a phenominal cook, in her spare time you will either find her creating new recipes or training her pony, She is a fantastic card player and loves watching all types of movies.

Riley - Rockets Flying Ace
Golden Retriever - April 2019
If Riley had an inspirational quote, it would be “Work smarter, not harder” or “My way or the highway.” She is every bit as sassy as she is sweet. Riley loves being a therapy dog and being adored. She just loves people and getting tummy rubs. She is an undisputed sweetheart and a total dork.
Riley’s favourite pastimes are horseback riding, chasing gophers in the field, hiking and playing with her family in snow and water. She loves peanut butter and liver and will sell her soul for a treat. As well as being a therapy dog, Riley excels at dog sports, training in Agility, Lost item, Urban Locate and Barn Hunt.
On May 3, 2021, Riley and her boyfriend Addy had nine beautiful Puppies (six girls and three boys). We kept one of her daughters Ariel. Riley is a great little mom. She and her daughter have the cutest relationship.

Addison - GJ's Otto
Golden Retriever - June 2019
Affectionately known as Mushu to those at home - Addy is a total ADHD child. He is either the busiest bee or sleeping. Addy’s favourite thing in the world is his Chuck It Glow Ball. He would play fetch with a stick or ball all day long if he could. He is a therapy dog alongside his girlfriend and an emotional support dog (ESA) in training. He is also a Canine blood donor. He competes in scent detection, trains in agility and enjoys Dock Diving with his girls however scent detection is his sport of choice. He is the proud dad to 9 golden retriever puppies; his baby at home (Ariel) is his best friend UNTIL she steals his ball. His favourite snack is a banana; he loves to snuggle and give high fives!

Ariel - AR's Red sea
Golden Retriever - May 2021
Ariel is a social butterfly who loves everyone. She is incredibly sweet and a little bit feisty. Ariel got her name after the little mermaid because of her firey red fur and love of swimming. She is every bit as much of a princess as her name implies. She loves swimming and won't get out of the water. Her hobbies include playing with her parents, horse back riding, sleeping, hiking, agility, barn hunt and scent work. In typical Golden Retriever fashion she would sell her soul for a treat or belly rubs. She competes in Scent Detection, Barn Hunt, Agility & Lost item. On her off hours, she enjoys snuggling with her humans, parents, or her 2 feline friends.

Maverick - Lish's Bow river ranger
Golden Retriever - March 2024
This “Party Animal” is the newest member of our pack all the way from the USA. Like an electron this little guy is always in a constant state of motion. His favourite activities are hanging out with his equine and canine friends, shredding toys, agility, scent detection and playing frisbee or soccer with the neighbourhood kids. In typical puppy fashion Maverick is a rebel with a cause, he enjoys creating chaos at home. But as chaotic as he is, he’s very sweet, and caring. “Rikki’s” favourite snack is strawberries. He comes from long hunting retriever lines and is a professional chaser of water fowl.

Testimonials
Jolene S -
Barks Around The Park provides the absolute best dog care imaginable! I've used them for 3.5 years for my Yellow Labrador Retriever for everything from a daily dog walk right up to 7 nights of overnight care. I love that they are on time & professional & take my dog on excellent off leash walks...but more than anything I love that my dog is treated like one of their own. He is exceptionally well-cared-for and incredibly happy when with them. When I have to be away from my dog, I am completely at ease when he is with Barks Around The Park. I cannot recommend them enough!!

" I adore these girls, daycare and boarding is like a “pet all inclusive”and no one loves and treats my girl better. I love the updates they send and I trust them 100% to take the best care of my dog.”
Travis R -
I met the girls a few years back when we signed up for an agility course with our dogs. The first encounter was their dog Riley trying to drink my dogs water, which was okay with me, however my german shepard Sadie aka Shadie wasn't to thrilled with idea. Most dog owners would scoff at the other dog however they did not they laughed it off and were understanding and a friendship began between us and the dogs.
Through getting to know them I quickly learnt how much these two young ladies know about our K9 friends from behaviors and needs to just knowing their quirks, and most of all their love for dogs.
When it comes to walking my dogs that was my job and only my job, however with working out of town and sporadic trips. I had to rely on them, and have never regretted it. They truly understand them and make sure they have the best time either on a leash or off leash, they have truly made a bond and lasting friendship.
Not only are they reliable with walking and training. They have helped me with caring for my animals; from teaching me how to properly trim their nails and the effects of not maintaining a proper length. My new German Shepard went into heat early and never going through that they were there to answer questions and be a support team through a very insane time with a young pup.
I would highly recommend Syd and Taylor to anyone, the fact of knowing my dogs are safe and exercised gives me such a peace of mind. They have truly made a difference in mine and my German Shepards lives.
